International candidates are welcome to apply to study at Nazarbayev University.
NU offers Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees in various fields of Humanities, Business, Social Sciences and STEM programs.
Admission

Application process
All prospective students apply through the Office of Admissions, regardless of their intended program of study.

Application timeline
Online application (January - April). Candidates must upload of all requires documents online on Nazarbayev University Admissions website.
Shortlisting (May). Each Schools’ Admission Committees asses eligible candidates and shortlist them for the interview.
Interviews (June). Shortlisted candidates are invited to Skype or face-to-face interviews with Admission Committees.
Final results (July). Selected candidates will be notified by e-mail and receive offer letters.

Financial Aid
Abay Kunanbayev scholarships
Awarded to foreign citizens and persons without citizenship recommended for admission by the Admissions Committee of the respective program. This scholarship is funded by Nazarbayev University and covers tuition fee. A monthly stipend is possible depending on the candidate’s ranking by the Admissions Committee.

Discounts for fee-paying students
Admission to a fee-paying education is carried out on a competitive basis in accordance with the Rules for Admission of the corresponding program. The fees for tuition are indicated in the corresponding section of the program on the websites of the Schools of the University. There are discounts that are provided for certain categories of applicants for foundation, bachelor’s and master’s programs of the autonomous organization of education “Nazarbayev University” including:

Orphans or individuals left without care of parents

Disabled individuals of 1,2,3 categories

Individuals from large families

Individuals with one or both parents with disabilities of 1, 2, 3 categories

Immediate family and spouses of the graduates or of the students of the autonomous organization of education “Nazarbayev University” studying under fee-paying basis

Summer Programs

Summer School in Russian and Eurasian Studies
Summer School in Russian and Eurasian Studies (SSRES) is an intensive academic program that offers students the chance to immerse themselves in the Russian or Kazakh languages and to experience Kazakh and post-Soviet culture in the heart of Eurasia.
In 2020, SSRES will offer an 8-week program, with 20 contact hours per week.
